This Custom Content Policy explains what content may and may not be created, uploaded, or used through ClueHop.

This Policy supplements and forms part of the ClueHop Terms of Use. By creating or uploading Custom Content, you agree to follow this Policy and the Terms of Use.

If this Policy conflicts with the Terms of Use, the Terms of Use control.

1. What we mean by Custom Content

“Custom Content” means content that you or someone acting through your ClueHop account provides for use in a ClueHop experience, including:

- story titles, introductions, scenes, finales, clues, hints, and other written content;

- uploaded images and other permitted media;

- names, descriptions, route-related content, and other material you provide for players to see or use.

ClueHop controls the structure, functionality, game mechanics, validation systems, and technical operation of the service. This Policy applies to the content you add within those systems.

2. You are responsible for your content

You are responsible for the Custom Content you create or upload.

You must ensure that your content:

- complies with applicable law;

- complies with this Policy and the Terms of Use;

- does not violate the rights of another person or organisation; and

- is appropriate for use in a ClueHop experience.

If you create Custom Content on behalf of a business, venue, organisation, or other account holder, you must have authority to provide that content on their behalf.

The fact that ClueHop allows content to be uploaded, stored, displayed, or used in a game does not mean that ClueHop has approved, endorsed, or verified that content.

3. Rights and permissions

Only upload or create content that you have the right to use.

You must either own the content or have all licences, permissions, consents, and other rights necessary to use it through ClueHop.

This includes photographs, illustrations, logos, artwork, characters, written material, trademarks, and other protected material.

Do not assume that an image found online is free to use simply because it can be downloaded or does not display a copyright notice.

If your content contains an identifiable person, you are responsible for ensuring that you have any permission or other lawful basis required to use that person's image, likeness, personal information, or other protected rights.

The ownership and licence arrangements that allow ClueHop to host, process, display, and operate your Custom Content are described in the Terms of Use.

4. AI-generated and third-party content

You may use content created with AI tools, stock libraries, templates, contractors, photographers, designers, or other third parties only where you have the necessary rights to use that content through ClueHop.

Using an AI tool or third-party service does not remove your responsibility for the resulting content.

You are responsible for checking that the content complies with this Policy and does not unlawfully copy, impersonate, or infringe the rights of others.

5. Audience and content standards

Unless ClueHop expressly provides a feature intended for age-restricted experiences, Custom Content must be suitable for a general audience that may include children, families, and mixed-age groups.

ClueHop is a mystery and activity platform, so fictional suspense, mild peril, spooky themes, fictional crimes, and similar storytelling elements are allowed when presented in a non-graphic and age-appropriate way.

Custom Content must not contain or promote:

Sexual or adult content

Pornography, explicit sexual activity, sexualised nudity, fetish content, sexually exploitative material, or other content inappropriate for a general audience.

Child sexual exploitation or abuse

Any sexualised depiction of a minor, grooming, exploitation, sexual solicitation involving minors, or content that facilitates or normalises the sexual abuse or exploitation of children is prohibited.

Graphic violence or cruelty

Graphic gore, mutilation, torture, extreme cruelty, or realistic depictions designed primarily to shock or disturb players.

Hate, harassment, or threats

Content that threatens, targets, humiliates, or promotes hatred or serious discrimination against a person or group, including attacks based on protected characteristics such as race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

Dangerous or unlawful activity

Content that meaningfully encourages, instructs, or assists players in committing crimes, harming themselves or others, trespassing, damaging property, evading safety measures, or engaging in dangerous behaviour.

A fictional story may refer to crimes or dangerous events. It must not turn those references into real-world instructions or encouragement.

Exploitation or abuse

Content that encourages abuse, coercion, stalking, bullying, exploitation, or other serious mistreatment of another person.

6. Privacy and personal information

Do not use Custom Content to expose, collect, publish, or misuse private or sensitive information.

In particular, do not include information such as:

- passwords, authentication credentials, or security information;

- payment card or banking information;

- government identification numbers;

- confidential business information or trade secrets;

- private addresses, telephone numbers, or contact information where the person has not agreed to its use;

- sensitive personal information where its use is unnecessary or unlawful.

Take particular care with information, photographs, or other content involving children.

Do not use Custom Content as a way to collect personal information from players unless ClueHop expressly provides a feature designed for that purpose.

7. Impersonation and misleading content

Do not use Custom Content to falsely impersonate another person, organisation, brand, or public authority.

You must not falsely claim or imply that another person or organisation created, sponsored, approved, endorsed, or is affiliated with your ClueHop experience.

Fiction, parody, historical references, and fictional characters are not prohibited merely because they resemble real people or organisations, but they must still comply with applicable law and the rights of others.

8. Scams, manipulation, and platform abuse

Custom Content must not be used for phishing, fraud, scams, malware distribution, deceptive advertising, credential collection, or similar abuse.

You must not use Custom Content to:

- bypass ClueHop's payment, membership, safety, validation, or moderation systems;

- interfere with the operation or security of ClueHop;

- direct players to unsafe or deceptive material;

- manipulate players into providing information or performing actions unrelated to the legitimate ClueHop experience.

9. Moderation and review

ClueHop may use automated systems, human review, user reports, rights-holder notices, and other reasonable methods to identify content that may violate this Policy, the Terms of Use, or applicable law.

Review may occur before or after content is made available to players.

Automated systems can make mistakes and are not a substitute for your responsibility to review your own content.

ClueHop does not guarantee that every piece of Custom Content will be reviewed before it is used or that moderation systems will identify every violation.

When reasonably necessary, ClueHop may:

- require content to be changed;

- restrict or quarantine content while it is reviewed;

- prevent content from being published, sold, shared, or used;

- disable or remove content;

- restrict Custom Content features;

- suspend or terminate access in cases of serious or repeated violations; or

- take other action required by law or reasonably necessary to protect players, other users, ClueHop, or third parties.

The action taken may depend on the nature and severity of the issue, whether it appears intentional, previous violations, potential harm, and applicable legal requirements.

10. Reporting content

Players, account holders, rights owners, and other affected persons may report Custom Content they believe violates this Policy, the Terms of Use, their rights, or applicable law through the reporting or support channels provided by ClueHop.

Reports should contain enough information for ClueHop to understand and investigate the concern.

Submitting a report does not automatically mean that content will be removed. ClueHop may review the report, the relevant content, available context, and applicable requirements before deciding what action to take.

Content that presents an urgent safety concern or appears clearly unlawful may be restricted while it is reviewed.

11. Intellectual property complaints

If you believe Custom Content infringes your copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights, you may contact ClueHop through its designated support or legal contact channel.

ClueHop may request information reasonably necessary to identify the protected work, the allegedly infringing content, your rights in the material, and how to contact you.

ClueHop may restrict or remove disputed content while a complaint is investigated and may take action against accounts responsible for serious or repeated infringement.

12. Review of moderation decisions

If ClueHop restricts or removes your Custom Content and you believe the decision was incorrect, you may contact ClueHop Support and request review where a review process is available.

Where applicable law requires ClueHop to provide a reason for a moderation decision, a complaint mechanism, or another form of redress, ClueHop will provide the information or process required by that law.

13. Changes to this Policy

ClueHop may update this Policy as the service develops, new risks emerge, or legal and regulatory requirements change.

Minor changes may take effect when an updated version is published.

If a change materially affects the rules governing your Custom Content or your rights and obligations, ClueHop will provide appropriate notice and may require you to accept the updated Policy before creating or uploading additional Custom Content.

The version and effective date shown at the top of this Policy identify the rules currently in effect.

14. Contact

Questions, reports, rights complaints, or concerns about Custom Content may be submitted through ClueHop's Support or legal contact channels.

ClueHop is owned and operated by CogniWolf AB, Sweden.
